We would love to welcome your child to one (or more!) of our 2026 camps. River Discovery Center summer camps are designed to support families during school breaks by keeping kids learning, exploring, and engaged through hands-on experiences.

We believe the best learning experiences are built by the people who know kids best. That’s why our camps are developed and taught in partnership with local classroom teachers who spend the school year understanding how students learn, what sparks curiosity, and how to turn exploration into meaningful learning.

Our goal is simple:

to extend learning beyond the classroom through hands-on exploration, creativity, and real-world experiences that teachers know help students thrive.

FAQ

Here are a few quick answers to common questions to help you plan for camp. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please reach out. We’re happy to help.

Is lunch or snack provided?
No. Campers should bring a lunch, two snacks, and a water bottle each day.
 

Do campers need to attend the entire camp?
Yes. Full attendance is strongly encouraged so each child can fully participate and get the most out of the experience.
 

Can I pay by check?
Yes. Checks may be dropped off at River Discovery Center or mailed to:
117 South Water Street, Paducah, KY 42001.
 

Can my children attend the same camp?
Children may attend the same camp as long as they fall within the listed grade range. We do not make exceptions to grade requirements to ensure all campers have an enjoyable and age-appropriate experience.
 

Do RDC members receive a discount?
Yes. RDC members receive a discount on summer camp registration. Please call Lindsay at 270-575-9958 to receive a discount code.
 

When is the last day to register?
Registrations are accepted until two weeks prior to the scheduled camp start date or until the camp is sold out. Once a camp is full, a waitlist will begin.
 

What is the cancellation policy?

  • Cancellations before May 15 will receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee.

  • Cancellations after May 15 will receive a 50% refund.

  • Cancellations made within two weeks of the camp start date are non-refundable.
     

What if the camp I want is sold out?
You may add your child to the waitlist by emailing lramsey@riverdiscoverycenter.org. If a spot becomes available, families will be notified in the order they are added to the waitlist.
