Pilothouse Simulator: the visitors will be able to captain their own
boat in this state-of-the-art audio-visual experience. By choosing a
coast guard vessel, a towboat or a speed boat, the visitor will be able
to maneuver through a variety of obstacles and challenges which boat captains and pilots face daily. The simulator is an experience that will
be as much fun for adults as for children. |

Hidden Highways: The average person is unaware of the number of inland waterways in our nation. This multi media exhibit will allow the visitor to see all the inland rivers throughout the eastern U.S. And, the visitor will be able to see the distances between cities on the water-
ways as well as elevations along the routes. |

24 Hours on the River: In this exhibit, the visitor will have a turn at the pilot wheel to see how busy the river traffic has been over the last
24 hours or as far back as a week. With a camera mounted on the museum’s rooftop,the view the visitor has is of the confluence of the Ohio and Tennessee rivers at Owens Island. The visitor will be able to
see the amount of traffic on the river throughout the middle of the
night. |
