Paducah Dragon Boat Festival

About the Festival

The first Paducah Dragon Boat Festival was held in 2012 as a fundraising event to benefit the educational programs of the center.   In 2012, there were 26 teams, and the event raised over $70,000 for the center.   In 2013, the event grew to 32 teams and raised over $90,000.   Over 7,000 people either participated or attended the event.

Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese sport dating back 2500 years.   In the early 1990’s, it swept into North America, and today it is the fastest growing team sport.  22Dragons, out of Montreal Canada provides the event management including all equipment, race day oversight and the professional steersmen for all the teams.
